This very rare and unusual antique Georgian reproduction of an ancient Greek trefoil oinochoe wine jug showcases exceptional classical detailing and craftsmanship. Inspired by the traditional Greek oinochoe pitcher form, the jug features a distinctive trefoil-shaped lip, designed for elegant pouring. The beautifully crafted handle displays striking ram’s head decoration, which gazes toward the trefoil spout, while a finely modelled classical god-like mask adorns the lower terminal where the handle joins the main body. The vessel stands gracefully on a small circular foot, completing its authentic neoclassical silhouette. This Georgian classical revival wine jug represents a rare and decorative example of 19th-century Grand Tour–inspired design, highly appealing to collectors of antique Greek revival metalware and neoclassical decorative arts.
