A Lovely heavy Antique French Copper Cauldron

A stunning example of an antique French Copper Cauldron, these were used in large farm houses to prepare mainly confiture and were at one time common place and all made pretty much the same way, this lovely example however must have been specially made, or perhaps the metal worker thought he needed to show his skills by choosing an extra thick gauge of copper and of iron for the bail handle, he then thought “I’ll make the handle ends with finesse and beautifully shape them and I’ll mount this on beautifully cast , heavy Brass brackets”. It’s a joy to look at and very functional , as a stunning wine cooler for those special celebrations or perhaps a fireside log bin, whichever, sure to be a stunning talking piece !
