This very large 19th-century French gilt gesso wall mirror displays exceptional detail and commanding presence. Crafted in France, the mirror would originally have adorned the wall of an important Parisian city apartment, a style now highly sought after in both classic and contemporary interiors.
The richly decorated gilt gesso frame features a repeating scrolling pattern executed in crisp, deeply modelled detail and preserved in remarkably complete condition. A high-quality bevelled plate glass mirror sits within the frame, enhancing both light and depth and reinforcing the mirror’s strong architectural impact.
Impressive in scale and elegant in design, this antique French mirror serves as a striking statement piece for any room.
