This truly magnificent French Baroque Rococo–inspired coffee table, dating to circa 1910–1920, commands attention with its sculptural presence and exceptional craftsmanship. The maker cast the frame in solid bronze as a single piece, creating extraordinarily elaborate pierced detailing, with especially rare cut-away rear leg sections.
Flowing scrolling foliate forms define the richly modelled casting, while the leg tops take the form of stylised leopard heads that rise proudly above the surface. These dramatic details appear to guard the exquisitely shaped green and black marble top, which displays a beautifully grained surface, a chamfered underside edge, and re-entrant corners—features we rarely encounter on marble of this period.
Perfectly proportioned for use as a coffee table or end-of-sofa table, this striking French bronze and marble piece will draw admiration wherever it stands.
Excellent condition overall, not overly polished, a couple of very small filled areas on marble
