A truly magnificent example of a French circa 1910/20 Baroque or Rococo inspired coffee table. The frame is in one piece, cast in solid Bronze , with extraordinary elaborate pierced casting, especially unusual are the cut away rear leg detail. The casting is typically elaborate and with scrolling foliate form, the leg tops appear to be stylized Leopard heads, these sit wonderfully proud of the exquisite shaped, beautifully grained green and black marble top, we’ve not seen a marble top with chamfered underside edge and re-entrant corners like this, with the raised leg top detail so perfectly on display and almost “guarding” the top itself! Perfectly sized as a coffee table or end of sofa, wherever this piece ends up, it will surely be noticed!
